Norwegian wireless fabless manufacturing firm Nordic Semiconductor is set to take space at the multi-million pound Assembly development in Bristol, as part of its “ambitious” expansion plans in the city.

The company, which specialises in semiconductor chips used in wireless technology devices, currently has an office in the city at Hanover House on Queen Charlotte Street, which it occupied in July 2021.

It is now set to join telecoms giant BT and law firm Clarke Willmott at Assembly scheme, which comprises of three office buildings overlooking Bristol’s historic harbour.

The project is part of the growing Bristol Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone next to Temple Meads railway station.

Nordic Semiconductor will take 7,800 sq ft across the entire ninth floor of the 11-storey Assembly C building, where Clarke Willmott will move its 300-strong Bristol workforce in the spring.

The company previously agreed a five-year lease at Hanover House with a three-year break.

Mike Davis, Wi-Fi systems and software director at Nordic Semiconductor, said: “We have ambitious plans for expansion in Bristol and our move to Assembly is a crucial part of this.

“The location and proximity to the station were a huge draw for us, along with the potential it gives us as a business to offer a top-notch working environment for our own people, while being part of a thriving business community.”
