A renaissance in continues after a new image of the scheme on the was unveiled.
The computer-generated image obtained by the Post shows two towering buildings – an Innside hotel and an apartment block – on land off Broad Street.
The scheme will stand on the plot where Birmingham’s tallest building – the £125 million Regal Tower – was previously planned before it was scrapped during the recession.
The latest scheme, called Left Bank and put forward by Regal Property Group, has been scaled down with a 22-storey apartment block and a 18-storey hotel.
It comes on a big week for Broad Street after the Post unveiled new plans for and some .
The Regal scheme will be built on the site of a car park on land between Sheepcote Street and Oozells Way and involve the part demolition of the Grade II listed building at 78-79 Broad Street which currently houses the ‘Big Bite’ takeaway.
The plot was once home to a Jewish synagogue from the 1960s until it was relocated in 2008 and Regal Property Group has been eyeing the site for redevelopment for more than a decade.
