Almost 300 new apartments are planned for a run-down site on the edge of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
Hanehouse Developments has revealed its designs for a 1.5-acre site, bounded by Hockley Hill, Well Street, Great King Street and Barr Street, where it wants to build 281 apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms.
Called 'Hockley Gate', the mixed-use project would also have 4,671 sq ft of commercial space across five ground-floor units and 5,834 sq ft of amenity and management space.

The scheme will have communal gardens and an internal courtyard, subject to securing planning consent.
The application site is currently occupied by low-rise industrial premises and a grade II-listed, former bank at the corner of Hockley Hill and Well Street.
This will be retained and restored while the remaining buildings will be demolished to make way for the new residential complex reaching up to six storeys.
Two businesses currently based at the application site will relocate.
Jewellery Quarter-based Hanehouse said the vision for the development was to draw inspiration from the old Lucas automotive factories that once defined the area.

Director Richard Whitehouse said: "We are thrilled to bring forward plans for this exciting, residential-led regeneration scheme. The opportunity to assemble a single site of this scale in such a prominent location was too significant to overlook.
"After four years of engagement with landowners and the local authority, we are delighted to submit a proposal that delivers high-quality homes and an amazing internal landscape while restoring the traditional street frontage.
"The inclusion of commercial units will help support local businesses and contribute to the area's economic growth."
Hanehouse Developments is also working on the conversion of the Boston Clothing Co. building in nearby Great Hampton Street and a residential scheme in Bradford Street, Digbeth.
