New operational base for innovative fire supression specialist after £4.5m equity investment

Fast-growing fire suppression specialist IMist has invested more than £500,000 to create a new national operational base in Kent.

The Hull-launched high pressure water mist innovator has advanced solutions provided by traditional sprinkler systems, with efficient use of water, ease of installation and cost effectiveness at the heart of the six-year-old firm.

Earlier this year a £4.5 million equity investment was welcomed from Foresight Group, accelerating expansion.

Having had a base in Swanley, near Orpington, for the past five years, a 3,100 sq ft unit has just been taken on Park Road Industrial Estate to accommodate a 17-strong team of designers, service operatives and installers.

It features office space, a training area and warehousing. The base in Hull’s Argyle Street will be retained as well as offices in Alloa, Scotland.

Two further jobs have been created as the installation team expands, with the Kent operation having made seven new appointments in the last four months.

IMist operations director and co-founder, Alex Pollard, said: “This investment marks another important milestone in the development of the business. As we continue to expand, having a single operational HQ will enable us to speed up installation and hold more stock, bringing down lead times for customers throughout the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.
