New name for Birmingham office development

Bruntwood unveils what it will call the revamped Two Cornwall Street in the Colmore Business District when it opens later this year

The team behind the £14 million revamp of a city centre office building has announced its new name.

Two Cornwall Street will be rebranded 'Cornerblock' when it reopens later this year after and converted into grade A office space.

The nine-storey project, on the corner of Cornwall Street and Livery Street, is being carried out by owner Bruntwood and will eventually see 110,000 sq ft of new office space.

Cornerblock will also have an on-site gym, bicycle storage with showers and a rooftop garden.

It is a scaled-back version of what was planned by previous owner West Register also known as Peat House, and construct a 13-storey replacement.

Rob Valentine, head Bruntwood's Birmingham office, said: "The workplace is changing and we see this reflected in the wants and needs of our customers.

"Increasingly, business owners are seeking a workspace that gives them flexibility and helps them to develop a strong culture which encourages collaboration, creativity and a sense of belonging within their workforce.
