New dates have been announced for the 2021 MIPIM international property conference in Cannes.

The global real estate and construction showcase was cancelled in the spring as the Covid-19 escalated around the world.

Next year’s conference had been set to take place in the Palais des Festivals - home of the Cannes Film Festival - between March 16 and 19.

However, organisers have now decided it will take place from Monday, June 7 to Thursday, June 10, 2021.

The event attracts in the region of 26,000 investors, developers, land owners, property agents, lawyers and planning consultants, to discuss multi-billion pound opportunities that can shape cities, resorts and regions in the years to come.

Business movers and shakers will argue it is the ideal place to arrange a quick meeting with the head of global construction consultancy or PRS investor that would otherwise take weeks to arrange back in Britain.

Conversations over a breakfast coffee or outside an expensive bar off La Croisette, they say, can be the catalyst for invaluable business relationships.

In a statement MIPIM Director Ronan Vaspart said: “Following discussions with clients about travel restrictions and quarantine, and having looked at the availability of the Palais des Festivals MIPIM venue next year, we have decided to hold the event in June.
