A former Jamie’s Italian eatery in Nottingham has reopened as an independent bar and restaurant following a deal for the premises.
The Italian restaurant, housed in a listed Georgian building in Low Pavement, closed last year after it was announced that the chain, owned by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, had gone into administration.
The property, which has a south facing terrace and rear garden, was put on the market with FHP Property Consultants.
During the lockdown period, the company secured a deal for the building with Fletcher Gate Industries, the company behind other successful ventures such as Hockley Arts Club, Penny Lane and Das Kino.
The firm has now reopened the former Jamie’s Italian and renamed it the Magic Garden. It is the firm’s seventh venue.

Alan Pearson, from FHP, who acted on behalf of the vendor, said: “Fletcher Gate Industries is an established bar and restaurant operator in Nottingham with a track record of success.
“This made it an easy decision for my client to proceed with them in what was a seamless transaction, enabling them to open as the country came out of lockdown.
“The venue has been very successful since its opening, as people have sought to take advantage of the sun drenched (when the Ƶ’s weather permits) south facing garden, which is a hidden gem in Nottingham’s city centre.”
Adam Pereira, from Fletcher Gate Industries, said: “We are delighted to have opened our seventh venue in the city.
“We were drawn to the property due to its idyllic garden and truly beautiful Grade II-listed building to create a venue for the post-Covid-19 world.
“The garden features Chinese lanterns, glitter balls, ribbons and bunting, and will feature an outside cinema this month.
“The venue is well spaced for social distancing and allows for 196 people in the garden, plus more inside, where we offer cocktails, beer, cider and spirits, alongside stone-baked pizza and a selection of summer-influenced nibbles.”
