A new trade park development has been unveiled in Stoke-on-Trent as part of a wider business park scheme.

Eleven new units have been constructed at St Modwen Park Stoke Central, in Etruria, which has already seen a 43,000 sq ft warehouse built on site.

The units - which have been constructed in two blocks - were officially launched at an event to mark the fifth anniversary of the Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone which has seen more than two million square foot of industrial space completed, under construction or secure planning permission in the city since 2015.

Over the last five years - and as a direct result of the Enterprise Zone - more than 2,000 jobs have been created in the city, and 22 businesses have set-up home in Stoke-on-Trent.

Council leaders joined Stoke-on-Trent Lord Mayor Ross Irving for a special plaque unveiling yesterday (14th) to mark the milestone.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council leader Abi Brown said: "We have invested heavily in gap funding and purchasing units like this where we can be the landlord of and get occupants for.

"We feel that it is the right thing to support businesses but also because we know there is demand for these types of units."

Stoke-on-Trent's Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone covers 345 acres of brownfield land across six sites in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. So far between £3 and £5 million has been spent by the city council to develop some of the sites.
