New images of Park Regis hotel revealed

CGIs show how the new hotel and its interior will look when it opens, slightly later than planned, next March

New CGIs have been released showing how the Park Regis hotel will look when it opens in Birmingham next year.

The images (see gallery above) have been unveiled just days after the Post by six months from its planned launched date of October.

The hotel will now open in March in the former Auchinleck House building, at the Five Ways end of Broad Street, following a £50 million renovation project by Seven Capital and Colmore Tang Construction.

It will have 253 rooms, two junior suites and what is claimed to be the largest presidential suite in Birmingham.

There will also be a sky bar overlooking Edgbaston and the hotel will be run by Australian group StayWell Hospitality.

Group chief executive Simon Wan said: "The Park Regis brand is rapidly expanding internationally.

"The opening of our first European-based hotel in Birmingham aligns with our strategy of opening high-quality properties in cities which present optimum growth opportunities.

"While the number of hotel beds in Birmingham has increased rapidly in recent years, the number of upscale hotels hasn't kept the same pace."
