Gas services specialist Phoenix Gas Services has relocated to a new, multi-million pound headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent - after doubling its workforce in the last five years.
The company used to be based in two units on a business park in nearby Newcastle-under-Lyme, but now Phoenix has moved its North Staffordshire operations to an 8,000 square foot site in Tunstall.
The building - which was formerly home to building merchant Travis Perkins - boast offices, meeting rooms, warehouse space and car parking for its 100-strong team of staff – and even more jobs are expected to be created in the coming months.
The move also coincides with the company’s 25th anniversary this year.
Managing director Kyle Grocott, said: “We have been looking for a new place since about 2015 but it has been so hard to find somewhere suitable.
“We wanted somewhere local and somewhere which was close to the A500 and the A50 so when the building went up for sale we jumped at the chance.
“We took over in December and have spent six months designing the office for our needs and we still have enough space to expand into when the time comes."
Phoenix Gas was established in 1994 by Christine and Philip Grocott who are the parents of Kyle, his sister Kirsty Brazier and brother Callum Grocott who are all part of the current management team.

The company specialises in central heating, hot water and renewable energy services across the domestic and commercial markets as well as installations, design, servicing and maintenance services for local authorities, housing associations, private businesses and domestic clients.
Over the last five years, the firm – – has secured a number of new contracts which has led to the company’s continued expansion.
One of the biggest contracts it has won in recent years has been with Housing Plus, for the servicing and maintenance of 10,000 properties based in the Midlands.
Marketing and HR director Kirsty said: “When the new generation came into the business in 2014 we decided to concentrate on growth by retaining existing contracts with customers and winning new ones.
“We have won more tenders and have completed more contracts and have just grown from there. We have also expanded our reach across the region.”
Nigel Jackson, operations director at Phoenix Gas Services, added: “The biggest challenge for us over the years has been recruiting the right staff and finding the right premises.
“Over the years there have been many changes within the industry and the economy, as well as customer demands, but we have been able to adapt to meet those needs.

“Stoke-on-Trent has reinvented itself three times now with the pits, pots and steel and businesses like ours have been able to benefit from that by bringing in those expertise. We have also had a lot of success with adult apprentices.”
To mark its 25th birthday, Phoenix Gas has undergone a rebrand and has decided to giveaway £3,000 to local community groups, organisations and families in need.
The company is also looking to increase its workforce by more than 10 new staff with the recruitment of new engineers and admin support workers.
Kyle said: “We have ambitions to continue to grow and our staff are a big part of those plans. We have had staff who have been with us for more than a decade who have been a big part of the past and they will be a big part of the future of our business.
"We couldn’t do what we do without them and now we want to continue to recruit the right people.”
