A new green energy centre will be built on the campus of a Birmingham university after it was awarded £35.5 million in grant funding to support the project.
Aston University has secured the capital from the government's Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme and will now work towards its own net-zero emissions targets.
The green energy centre will be created in a newly acquired building, in Woodcock Street, which will eventually be home to its business school and healthcare and business hubs.
The centre will be powered by sustainable technologies and serve as a living lab, supporting research and education in sustainable technologies.
