Care Fertility is due to open the clinic in the Medical Quarter early next year in a move which is expected to create up to 50 new jobs.

The independent group currently operates a satellite clinic near Five Ways station offering IVF consultation and treatment monitoring but has now agreed a deal with Calthorpe Estates to take more than 10,000 sq ft of space at 27 Highfield Road.

The IVF and fertility clinic will join the group's network of main sites including in London, Manchester and Dublin and be close to the Birmingham Medical Institute Conference Centre

It will have laboratories, theatres and patient facilities and employ a variety of roles including clinical, nursing, embryology, administration and support services.

Care Fertility is one of the largest integrated team of specialists dedicated solely to fertility management and assisted reproduction.

Chief executive Harvey Ainley said: "The West Midlands is a key part of Care Fertility's expansion plans.

"We already have a large number of patients who travel from the region to our Nottingham clinic and, as well as building on existing interest, we also wanted to open up access to our enhanced level of service and treatment for an even greater number of people located in and around Birmingham.
