MKM Building Supplies has brought a fellow Hull company’s commercial property venture to capacity after taking the final unit at The Trade Yard Scunthorpe.

The 74th outlet for David Kilburn’s 25-year-old business will create 15 jobs, as it joins neighbours Toolstation, Howdens Joinery, Valley Carpets, Motor Parts Direct and Hayley Group on the extended Allenby Commercial site.

It is the second in the format established by the group, following the original Trade Yard in Beverley.

MKM Scunthorpe will showcase a wide range of building essentials including, plumbing and heating, electrical, roofing, timber, plaster and plasterboard, doors, windows and joinery.

It is headed-up by two branch directors, Karl Wilmore and Kevin Danks, who are both from the town.

Mr Kilburn said: “Our new branch in Scunthorpe offers an exciting opportunity for MKM.

David Kilburn, executive chairman of MKM.

"The building industry in the area has always been buoyant and our new team is very experienced, knows the local market and has an in-depth understanding of what trade customers need and will provide a customer service that is second to none.

“I would like to thank the whole team in MKM Scunthorpe for their hard work and boundless enthusiasm in opening the branch. It is a fantastic achievement for the brand.”
