A new masterplan for the regeneration of the Mell Square retail area in Solihull town centre has been unveiled.

The proposals have been put forward by developer Muse in partnership with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.

The aim of the regeneration is to reinvigorate the square and create smaller public spaces alongside leisure facilities and homes.

Unveiling the masterplan comes after a recent series of engagement activities which looked at people's priorities and requirements for the town centre in the future.

A further programme of consultation will now take place over the coming months. The scheme has been designed by Birmingham-based architecture practice Howells.

The masterplan and new images of the project were showcased at the º£½ÇÊÓƵREiiF property conference in Leeds this week.

Maggie Grogan, Muse's Midlands managing director, said: "We have worked closely and in partnership with Solihull Council to develop an exciting, transformational masterplan proposal for Mell Square to support the evolution of the town centre.
