Stockport County Football Club have agreed a 250-year lease for their Edgeley Park stadium.
The National League side's deal with Stockport Council is now subject to being approved by the authority's cabinet at a meeting on March 15.
In a statement, the club said the new lease would allow them to ensure that further investment can be made on the ground and its facilities.

Stockport County have said that since being bought by businessman Mark Stott in January 2020, more than 拢3m has been invested into infrastructure with improvements to the pitch, upgraded conference and events facilities, new seating, and training facilities.
Stockport Council will retain the freehold of the ground.
Jonathan Vaughan, Stockport County Football Club CEO, said: "We鈥檙e delighted to secure the long-term lease of Edgeley Park.
"Over the last two years, significant investment has been made into the club鈥檚 infrastructure, re-engaging fans and shifting the club鈥檚 position in the table.
"Now the club can focus on the long-term future of the club whilst having a positive impact on the town and its people, taking football into schools, providing better facilities for people to learn and train, whilst having a positive impact on the town鈥檚 economic growth."
A wider strategic partnership between the council and the club will also be considered by the cabinet.
