MAPP takes over management of Potteries Centre after Intu admin

Site in Hanley is the latest to be moved to new management after previous owner Intu fell into administration in the summer

Intu Potteries Centre in Hanley is now under new management

A Staffordshire shopping centre is under new management.

Property company MAPP has been appointed to support the existing team at Intu Potteries Centre in Stoke-on-Trent which will be renamed The Potteries Centre later this year.

The rebrand will include a new logo, external signage and website.

Specialist investment manager APAM will assume asset management responsibilities at the centre in Hanley.

The move comes after Intu went into administration in June and follows a similar announcement last month at sister site Merry Hill in Dudley.

A joint statement from MAPP chief executive Nigel Mapp and APAM executive director Simon Cooke said: "We are very much looking forward to working with the outstanding onsite team at the Potteries Centre to reposition the centre not just for retail but as a cultural centre and community hub that will make Stoke on Trent proud."

Amy Whittaker, general manager for The Potteries Centre, added: "This is a really exciting time for the centre.

"We have always prided ourselves on creating a complete day-out experience for all our visitors and this transition means we can carry on doing just that.
