Long-serving Colliers chief joins rival agency

Appointment of David Smeeton by Cushman & Wakefield confirmed as former head of Brindleyplace office will lead investment team at Colmore Row consultancy

One of the most prominent figures in Birmingham's commercial property community has moved across the city to a new role with a rival agency.

David Smeeton was head of office with Colliers International in Brindleyplace for nine years, having spent 19 years in total with the consultancy.

He has now joined Cushman & Wakefield in as senior director and head of investment.

Mr Smeeton has worked on several significant deals in Birmingham including Hines Global's Hines and Ballymore's buyout of Two Snowhill in 2011 and the building's subsequent

Bringing over 25 years of real estate experience, Mr Smeeton joins investment associate directors James Bladon and Justin Quibell and will lead the Birmingham team with a continued focus on capitalising on the strong regional investment and development markets.

Jon Leedham, head of Midlands, South West and Wales, said: "David joins a very successful team in Birmingham which has been responsible for some of the biggest investment deals in the city in the last year, including The Green in Solihull.
