Law firm Hill Dickinson has started fi-out work on its new Manchester office on the top floor of Gary Neville’s St Michael’s development in the latest landmark for that massive project.

The commercial law giant is moving from Fountain Street to a new 18,200 sq ft workspace at No.1 St Michael’s, which is being developed by Mr Neville’s Relentless Group. The firm says it wants to create an “inspirational workspace for its team, its stakeholders and its clients” at its new home, which has its own roof terrace with views of Manchester city centre.

Liverpool-based Hill Dickinson opened a new Leeds office in that city’s landmark 11 Wellington Place development in January 2024. Its Manchester team is currently based in Fountain Street.

The offices have been designed by Incognito and will be delivered by DENTON, and is expected to be completed by this summer. St Michaels’s already has BREEAM Outstanding status for sustainability and Hill Dickinson has promised to target SKA Gold and Carbon Zero status for its fit out.

Barry Gibb, Hill Dickinson partner and head of office for Manchester, said: "This move represents another pivotal step in Hill Dickinson's growth strategy. Our investment in a new office in one of Manchester’s most exciting developments underlines our commitment to the city and our people, and a desire to improve the sustainability of our operations.

“We’re using intelligent, sustainable design to create an environment that will encourage greater collaboration and innovation, prioritise our people and be welcoming for our clients. St Michael's provides the perfect platform for our business and we’re excited to be moving in later this year."

Simon Millington, director at Incognito, said: "We are honoured to have worked with Hill Dickinson since our inception, and even more so to be working alongside the firm on this transformational project. Our design approach is focused on creating a future-forward workspace that blends the familiarity of Hill Dickinson’s emerging brand with functionality and sustainability to ensure the new office is a shining exemplar for workplace excellence."
