A new high-spec office block has opened in Bristol city centre. The Welcome Building near Temple Meads station is a 207,000 sq ft workspace designed with a "hotel-quality feel".
The scheme was delivered as a joint venture between investment manager Tristan Capital Partners and real estate firm Trammell Crow Company (TCC).
The building, which signed law firm DAC Beachcroft as its first tenant last year, is TCC’s first completed office development in Europe.

The building was designed by Darling Associates Architects and constructed by Wates, and includes a unique ‘street’ on the ground floor; a huge lobby area with a café-bar; break-out seating areas; work and event space; and wellness areas and a fitness studio.

"In our approach we have prioritised attracting people back into an office environment post pandemic, and have sought to create a low-carbon building that provides a sense of community, ownership and belonging."

The building is connected to the Bristol Heat Network, from which it will extract all of its heat load. The heat is procured from the zero-carbon water source heat pump at Castle Park energy centre.
