One of Nottingham's best known leisure and office developments has been sold.

The Axis Building in Upper Parliament Street was originally a department store but today is home to offices, flats and leisure facilities, including the Alea Casino.

It was bought by Henry Boot Developments in 2006 and redevelopment works were completed in 2009.

Now, the developer has confirmed the 192,680sq ft building was sold in an off-market transaction to Jersey-based investor º£½ÇÊÓƵRO.

Justin Sheldon, regional manager at HBD, said: "The Axis is illustrative of HBD’s long-term approach to development and our commitment to investing in Nottingham, across asset classes.

"We continue to progress several major projects in the city, including New Horizon, the former home of Imperial Tobacco, and the Angel Row scheme (to turn the current Central Library into Grade A office space).

"Nottingham remains a key focus for future opportunities and continued investment, which is currently in excess of £100 million.”

In addition to the leisure and residential offerings of The Axis, the development also offers 193 secure car parking spaces.
