A property developer is breathing new life into a derelict Warwickshire business park by turning it into a hub for small- and medium-sized businesses.
The real estate arm of the Kigass Group, a long-standing Warwickshire manufacturing and engineering business, is working with property agency ehB to redevelop part of St George's Business Park in Warwick.
The plot was once the home of the Benford dumper truck factory but the company relocated to Coventry a decade ago since when it has lain emtpy.
Kigass managing director Joanne Smith, great granddaughter of founder Charlie Wardman, said: "Benfords was a traditional engineering company that employed a lot of people and the plan is to re-introduce that enterprise in the town.
"We want to see this site rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of what has gone before."
When completed, the 4.4-acre plot will have 11 units ranging from 1,750 sq ft to 7,500 sq ft which will be put on the market sale.
ehB director Simon Hain said: "This is good news for the area, not only for new jobs, but a sign the local economy is recovering.
"We already have serious interest in a number of the units off plan, it's a great start."
Construction is expected to start in July and be completed by spring 2015.
