An established Midland chartered surveyor has taken over a rival as part of plans to “take it to another level”.

Johnson Fellows is strengthening its presence in the Midlands commercial property market with the acquisition of fellow chartered surveyors Salway Bradbury.

Nick Wint, partner at Johnson Fellows, said it was a “fantastic coup” for the company, adding important skills, experience and contacts to its national operations.

Salway Bradbury director Ken Salway will become a consultant at Birmingham-based Johnson Fellows while fellow director Ed Parkes joins as a partner.

Salway Bradbury was established in 1986 providing specialist advice and services in retail, office and industrial agency as well as development consultancy and acquisition advice. Its office agency department acts for major funds such as M&G and Credit Suisse in Solihull and South Birmingham region.

On the retail side, it has recently been retained by Farmfoods, while on the industrial side it is currently advising on, amongst others, a three-acre site in Solihull known as Highlands Park for Graftongate.

The company also acts for ThyssenKrupp Materials º£½ÇÊÓƵ, West Midlands Special Needs Transport, Bunn º£½ÇÊÓƵ (relocating from MK to Solihull) and Centor Europe (relocated to Solar Park, Solihull).

Mr Wint said: “We have admired Salway Bradbury for some time, given their specialist expertise in areas that we don’t currently have, and I am absolutely delighted that they have decided to join us and help build our growing business.
