Job-creating development at World Freight Terminal approved

Manchester Airports Group sold the site to Columbia Threadneedle Investments last year

A total of 80 full-time jobs are set to be created after three logistics units were approved to be built at the World Freight Terminal, Manchester Airport.

Manchester City Council has granted planning permission to Columbia Threadneedle Investments for the development which will total c.85,000 sq ft.

The new buildings, measuring c.36,000 sq ft, 27,000 sq ft and 21,000 sq ft, will replace an existing obsolete unit.

Architect RPS and planning consultant Avison Young advised on the plans with JLL and Knight Frank retained on the leasing.

Columbia Threadneedle Investments acquired the site last year from Manchester Airports Group, as part of a wider portfolio of assets.

According to planning documents filed with the council, the three buildings will create 80 full-time jobs.
