A new international food court is set to open in Digbeth to tap into the regeneration project.
New plans have been brought forward to demolish an existing retail building at 89-91 Allison Street and construct a new five-storey complex with a garden roof terrace to house food stalls selling international cuisine.
Phase one of the Beorma Quarter completed last year and the renovation and conversion of the Digbeth Cold Storage building into office accommodation.

Phases two and three fronting onto Park Street opposite Selfridges, and will also include two further mixed-use buildings of 14 and seven storeys respectively.

The food court would sit adjacent to the new 108-bedroom Adagio apart-hotel, employ 45 full- and part-time staff and be open from 8.30am to 9pm every day.
Documents accompanying the new application said Salhia Investments, the Kuwaiti developer behind the Beorma Quarter, approached the site's owner Mohammed Raza in 2008 to acquire the plot but later withdrew the offer.
They added: "The building would operate on the basis of an international food court - where East meets West - with healthy snack foods from around the world with Japanese sushi, South American cajun chicken, Chinese rice dishes (and) African market dishes.

"This in itself would enhance the rich diversity of the nationalities that represent modern day citizens of Birmingham."
