Hospitality company The Inn Collection Group had opened its first street food concept pub in the Lake District.
The Northumberland-based operator, which now has 26 sites across the 海角视频, has reopened its 27-bedroom site The Temperance Inn in Ambleside following a multimillion-pound refurbishment.
The venue, which was snapped up by the company last year alongside other significant acquisitions in Ambleside and Bowness, is the first in the group’s estate to have a street food service, offering take away food and drink alongside 85 traditional seated food covers for all day dining.

Operations director David Campbell said: “The concept meets recognised trade demand for quality food and drink on the go in high footfall destinations like Ambleside.
“Ambleside is known as the walking capital of the Lakes and a strong percentage of our daytime trade wants to maximise their time out on the fells or water.
“Due to the sheer volume of visitors the Lakes receives seated table space can be at a premium in peak season.
“The Temperance Inn’s street food concept will not only deliver high quality food and drink fare but will reduce wait times for customers, leaving them free to crack on and enjoy their time out in the Lakes.

“We very much remain a food-driven pubs with rooms operation and will still offer The Inn Collection Group’s ‘Eat, Drink, Sleep and Explore’ brand of food and drink served all day, 365 days a year, alongside serviced accommodation.
“It’s all about listening and responding to the market and offering this additional F&B facility to deliver what our customers want.”
The Temperance Inn was officially opened by social media canine celebrities Max, Paddy and Harry, who regularly feature in live streams of their outings to their 200,000-plus followers on Maxed Out in the Lake District on Facebook. Led by Max, the Canine Ambassador to Keswick, they bit through a pig-in-blanket to mark the inn’s reopening in time for Christmas, following a 12-month closure.
The inn’s interior has been remodelled to create a new bar and dining room area that embraces the street food concept, with an industrial feel, marble counters and Italian-style patina mirrors.
Each of the inn’s 27 bedrooms across the four-storey site have also been refurbished.
The Temperance Inn is The Inn Collection Group’s eighth pub with rooms in Cumbria alongside sister Ambleside venues, The Wateredge Inn, The Waterhead Inn and The Ambleside Inn. The group also owns The Angel Inn at Bowness-on-Windermere, The Swan at Grasmere, The Pheasant Inn at Bassenthwaite and The Coniston Inn at Coniston.
Elsewhere, the Alchemy-backed group’s growing portfolio of pubs with rooms in Northumberland, Yorkshire, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Lancashire.
