A County Durham workwear company is set to create up to 30 new jobs and build a new factory to help meet demand, after seeing a boost in business through the pandemic.
Consett-based Industrial Workwear provides organisations with workwear, as well as safety and branded uniform products, including hi-vis, PPE, footwear and flame retardant clothing.
Over the last two years the 22-year-old company has doubled in size on the back of rising workloads with clients including Elddis Transport, Clayton Glass, King’s College London and, more recently, Nissan.

Following strong performance through the pandemic, the business now plans to create the new roles, as well as invest £500,000 in a purpose-built factory to aid further business and expand its product offering.
Sales manager Joanna Wellden said: “The pandemic has been a really challenging time for many businesses, and whilst we certainly had our own to deal with early on, we quickly adapted and have been able to grow the business to a phenomenal level during this period.
“There have been some notable client wins during this time, and we’re really excited about our impending new HQ, a 600sqm custom-built factory based in County Durham, which will allow us to continue growing revenue, expanding our business offering, improving service, production and delivery times, as well as creating almost 30 new jobs in the region and taking our headcount to over 50 for the first time.”
