A modular housing company is opening an office in Bristol after seeing nearly 200 per cent annual growth in its pipeline of demand.

Ilke Homes, which is based in Yorkshire, has also opened offices in Birmingham and London as part of its expansion plans.

The company said it was "merging" its core business supplying modular homes to developers and landlords with its in-house development arm.

Managing director Ben Miller, who joined the business from housebuilder Crest Nicholson in 2019, has been promoted into the new role of chief executive of the firm’s new homes and development unit.

The department will manage all sales of homes, including to housing associations, local authorities and private developers.

Ilke said the regional expansion would enable it to identify undeveloped sites in the South West, South East and Midlands for new developments.

The expansion is being funded by “a string of major deals”, according to Ilke, and £30million from Homes England.

Ilke said it was planning to “scale-up the business” and was aiming to deliver 5,000 homes a year by 2025.
