Could this be what future workplaces look like?

Plans for a huge new office building in Bristol are aimed at breaking away from the traditional nine to five, according to the company behind the scheme.

1000 Aztec West is a 70,000 sq ft development being built in Almondsbury by commercial property developers CEG.

The new Grade A office headquarters will include a four-star hotel, restaurant, café with lakeside views, gym, meeting rooms, co-working space, showers, roof terraces, electric charging points, 231 parking spaces and 118 cycle spaces.

The idea, according to a brochure on the developer’s website, is to challenge tenants to “embrace every day as an opportunity to work and think differently”.

The site is situated on the edge of Aztec Lake and is surrounded by landscaped parkland and gardens.

Plans for the inside of the property include a 3,000 sq ft gym and wellness facility which will offer daily fitness and yoga classes. There will also be "mindfulness areas" within the building.

The brochure reads: “The fight for talent is an important part of building a successful business. 1000 Aztec West is designed to encourage the workforce of the future, ensuring tenants recruit and retain the best staff.”

The office is opening in the spring of 2021 and is being marketed by commercial property firms JLL and Cushman and Wakefield, and estate agency Carter Jonas.
