Volume housebuilder Wainhomes has launched a new division focused on building hundreds of new homes across the West Midlands.
The company's new operation is based at Blythe Valley Innovation Centre, in Solihull, and will be led by Andy Peters as managing director.
Mr Peters brings 16 years of experience leading the regional businesses of well-known housebuilders Barratt, Persimmon and Berkeley.
Wainhomes said it was targeting a steady expansion programme across the West Midlands, looking to deliver 500 homes per year by 2026, in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Staffordshire.
It is part of a strategic expansion by the Warrington-based outfit which means it is now also active in the North West, Severn Valley and South West.
Mr Peters said: "We have been working incredibly hard during the recent months, setting the foundations for this exciting new part of the Wainhomes business and with residential land already acquired we expect to deliver our first completions in 2022.
"We have the funding and appetite to explore more opportunities, particularly in market towns and suburbs and are actively working with a number of landowners in the region.
"My aim is for Wainhomes to be the employer of choice in housebuilding across the West Midlands and we have some exciting roles available now. It is refreshing to launch a region from a genuine blank canvas."

In other property appointments news, Solihull-based housebuilder Hayfield has appointed Ken Mulpeter as its new production director to oversee £215 million worth of construction activity.
He joins from the Midlands division of Avant Homes where he was responsible for the housebuilder’s largest region, prior to which he was head of construction with Birmingham for St Modwen Homes, again in the Midlands region.
Mr Mulpeter has worked for 25 years in the construction industry and has experience of feasibility studies, overseeing large-scale projects from inception to completion, risk management and health and safety.
Willmott Dixon Interiors has promoted Phil Crowther to regional director and appointed Stuart Kerr as operations director.
The duo will lead Willmott Dixon Interiors’ operation in the West Midlands including the refurbishment of office block 10 Brindleyplace and the structural refurb of Wolverhampton's Civic Halls.
Mr Crowther’s appointment as regional director comes just two years after being appointed as director to lead Willmott Dixon Interiors’ new office at Two Snowhill in Birmingham.
Mr Kerr joins the firm from sister-company Willmott Dixon Construction where he was responsible for the operational leadership of its offices in Nottingham and Rotherham.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in the construction sector spanning commercial and residential property and was a member of Willmott Dixon’s regional board in the Midlands.
Property consultancy CBRE has taken on four new graduates in its Birmingham office.
Nick Barnes, Iain Cameron, Jay Khan and Sarah Zengeya have joined the firm as part of its ‘Next Generation’ graduate programme.
Mr Barnes and Mr Cameron join as general practice graduates while Ms Zengeya will sit in the planning consultancy team and Mr Khan in the project management and building consultancy team.

Countryside has appointed Daniel McGowan as chief executive to lead its recently created partnerships Midlands division.
He brings more than 25 years of experience in housebuilding across the South West, Midlands and the North and will lead the division focusing on delivering residential developments across the region.
Most recently, he was the northern divisional chairman for Taylor Wimpey, overseeing its business growth, customer excellence and operations.
Black Country investor and developer Barberry has appointed a new head of finance.
The Stourbridge-based company has recruited accountant Maria Iacolino who has specialised in real estate for 17 years.
Her previous roles include spells with Deloitte, St Modwen and Hortons’ Estate in Birmingham where she was financial controller.
Contractor GF Tomlinson has appointed Ian Dalby to the new role of operations manager for the West Midlands.
He will lead and oversee the contractor’s activity following its appointment to the Constructing West Midlands Framework which will complement other work streams already secured by the company in the region.
Mr Dalby re-joins GF Tomlinson after a short spell away, previously enjoying 11 years of employment with the company in various roles including project manager, contracts manager and construction manager.
