Homes developer wants more North Wales land after success of service station site

Elan Homes achieved a sell-out success at its Argoed Gardens development in Flintshire

What can you do to your home without planning permission?

The success of a now completed housing development near Mold has prompted a developer to seek new land opportunities in the area.

Elan Homes achieved a sell-out success at its Argoed Gardens development in Flintshire, with the area proving popular with commuters to Chester and Mold.

Now the company, which has local sites in Kinnerton and nearby Cheshire - is keen to acquire additional land with development potential, to help address the wider housing shortage.

Philip Palmer, land director for Elan Homes in the North, said: " Our homes have proven to be very popular with buyers, and we continue to receive enquiries from customers who missed out, once a development is completed.

“In order to meet this pent up demand we are always looking for opportunities to buy land in excellent residential locations like Mold, where we can explore the local housing market and tailor our development offering to fit the needs of local buyers.”

At Argoed Gardens, Elan transformed the site of a former service station into a development of 24 homes.

Along with the new homes, the company agreed to contribute more than £135,000 towards local education, to be shared between Ysgol Mynydd Isa and Argoed High School.

The homebuilder is also financing enhancements to the play area on Clwyd Crescent.
