Hitachi Energy opens new º£½ÇÊÓÆµ HQ in Birmingham

Energy tech firm has relocated its head office from Staffordshire but that base will remain open

An energy technology firm has opened a new º£½ÇÊÓÆµ headquarters in Birmingham.

Hitachi Energy, part of the Japanese global conglomerate Hitachi, has taken 7,000 sq ft on a ten-year lease on the 24th floor of Alpha Tower.

Its previous º£½ÇÊÓÆµ head office in Stone, Staffordshire, will continue to operate following the move.

Hitachi Energy works with clients in the utility, industry and infrastructure sectors to provide sustainable energy products and services.

Its global headquarters are in Switzerland and it has around 600 staff working on energy projects in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

Laura Fleming, managing director for º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and Ireland, said: "Moving to Birmingham is a significant milestone and marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Hitachi Energy in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ as we embark on the growth journey.

"The location strengthens our presence in the Midlands as we continue to drive business innovation. We're excited to tap into the exceptional talent pool fostered by the world-class universities in the area.
