Historic Ruthin Castle hotel has gone back on the market - just 18 months after it was last sold.

In September 2019 it was announced the hotel and spa with Royal connections was sold through Colliers International to a new company.

There was secrecy around the deal at the time.

The accounts for Ruthin Castle Estates Ltd show its shares were bought by the Ruby Hotel Collection Holdings Ltd with Noreen Rabani listed as director.

Now the Grade II Listed site - where around 100 staff are employed - has gone on the market with Savills for £5.2m.

The site includes the 58 bedroom imposing hotel and historic estate, of approximately 30 acres.

The original castle dates back to 1277 when it was created by Dafydd, brother of Prince Llewelyn ap Gruffydd, for King Edward I of England in 1277.

It was captured by Owain Glyndwr in the 1400s and Royalist troops during the Civil War.
