Financial services firm Hargreaves Lansdown is relocating from its Bristol headquarters after more than 40 years.
The investment platform, which employs some 2,000 people in the city, has signed a long-term lease for over 90,000 sq ft across three floors at Welcome Building, off Avon Street, near to Temple Meads station.
The business is currently based at One College Square South on Anchor Road in the city centre.
Gary Logan, chief operating officer at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: “We chose Welcome Building for its excellent transport links, next-generation workspace, fantastic amenities and strong ESG credentials – something that is increasingly important for our business and clients.
"Colleagues will benefit from a workplace that has been designed with their needs, health and happiness firmly in mind, encouraging a spirit of collaboration, community and positive impact.”
Hargreaves Lansdown was founded by Peter Hargreaves and Stephen Lansdown in 1981 and agreed to a £5.4bn private equity takeover last year. Mr Lansdown rejoined the board in a non-executive director capacity this year.
The Welcome Building is a landmark new 207,000 sq ft workspace in Bristol delivered in a joint venture between EPISO 5, a fund managed by Tristan Capital Partners, and Trammell Crow Company. The letting is the largest in Bristol city centre since the fourth quarter of 2019.
The office has a café, 3,000 sq ft state-of-the-art gym and wellness space, auditorium, breakout seating areas, and public art.

Toby Pentecost, senior vice president and head of Ƶ offices at Trammell Crow Company, said: “Attracting such a high-quality British name and renowned Bristol-based business on a long-term lease is testament to the building’s exceptional credentials, from its city centre location, flexible floorplates and amenity-rich spaces, to the highest environmental and wellbeing standards.”
Hargreaves Lansdown follows a number of other organisations in choosing the Temple Quays area, amid significant investment and development.
James Brodie, managing director of Tristan Capital Partners, added: “Welcome Building sets a new bar for sustainability and user experience not just in Bristol but Ƶ-wide.
"It provides a well-located, high-quality, beautiful and vibrant working environment where people and businesses can truly thrive. We are excited to welcome Hargreaves Lansdown to join this growing, dynamic community.”
The announcement follows significant leasing momentum at Welcome Building, which last year welcomed international law firm DAC Beachcroft, taking 44,196 sq ft.
Unite Students, the Ƶ's largest owner, manager and developer of purpose-built student accommodation, is also planning to relocate its headquarters to the building in December.
Alder King and Knight Frank are leasing agents for Welcome Building, while Newsteer represented Hargreaves Lansdown.
