It is Leicester-based Millington Travel's 12th store across the region

Millington Travel's new outlet in Coventry

The ongoing regeneration of Coventry city centre has seen the arrival of a new travel business.

Leicester-based Millington Travel has opened a new store in the city centre, its 12th across the region and its biggest yet.

The firm was established in 1972 by Nigel Armitage and Nick Bland, who said they chose to come to Coventry because of the potential it offers and the fact it will be º£½ÇÊÓƵ City of Culture in 2021.

“We have been really impressed with Coventry’s ambitious plans to regenerate the city in view of them being the City of Culture in 2021 and believe that there is huge potential going forward,” said Mr Armitage.

“Being a strong and successful independent travel company operating in the city, we are confident that we will also be a great asset to Coventry and are very much looking forward to being of service to the city.”

A range of travel and holiday services

The new store, located on the corner of Market Way and Lower Precinct, will have a team of six travel professionals and offer a full range of travel and holiday services.

It is based in the former phones4u unit, which has stood empty since its sudden closure in 2014.

Mr Bland added: “The new store has got a great position in the centre of town and will be offering a full travel service, from weekend breaks and family holidays to long-haul trips of a lifetime. A vast selection of cruising holidays will also be on offer.”
