A growing luxury doughnut company with stores across the East Midlands has agreed a deal for a building which will house a new, larger bakery.

Doughnotts, which makes handmade luxury doughnuts, currently has stores in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Lincoln - with plans in the pipeline for more retail units.

Due to the rapid growth of the firm, the company has agreed to the letting of a building in Linkmel Close, on Queens Drive Industrial Estate, in Nottingham, which it will turn into a new high-specification bakery.

Wade Smith, co-founding director of Doughnotts, said: “This year is about creating a better working environment.

“A bigger facility means we can do that and also future proofs the company for the years to come.

“Doughnotts grew so much in 2019 and we want to keep up that pace with a bigger bakery to ensure that.”

Doughnotts was founded in 2015 by Wade, along with Megan Scaddan, after the pair decided to start making doughnuts with a borrowed £10. Today the company has a reported a turnover of £1.5 million.
