Grimsby’s sprawling Novartis site is now being has been launched, a year on from the shock announcement that it was to close.

The Pharmaceutical Campus is being brought forward by commercial and industrial property specialist CBRE, on behalf of the Swiss giant, as several options remain open for the site where 400 jobs are at risk.

Owner occupier and redevelopment opportunities are highlighted for the 229 acre site, which can be split into parcels, as revealed earlier this month.

It is described as a “flexible site with development-ready plots”.

Ian Johnson, recently appointed as site managing director, told Business Live earlier this month how six interested parties have toured the Moody Lane plant, with some making return visits in a recent interview.

It follows the strategic decision made in Basel to exit bulk manufacture, with the active ingredients for several drugs produced at the site.

The particulars describe the South Humber Bank facility as a “spacious, well maintained pharmaceutical complex”.

It states how “there has been extensive investment in new facilities over the last 30 years,” following the original establishment in 1951.
