Plans to build a £20 million industrial and logistics unit at a West Midlands business park have been given the green light.

The development at Tournament Fields Business Park, Warwick, is expected to generate further investment in the region and create dozens of new jobs.

Stourbridge-based developer Barberry acquired the last remaining plot at the park earlier this year and has now secured reserved matters planning permission from Warwick District Council for a 92,246 sq ft grade A distribution and logistics unit on the site.

A main contractor is due to be appointed imminently with the aim of starting work on site early next year.

Development director Jonathan Robinson said: "We are thrilled to be in the position to progress our exciting business plan, having secured planning consent for our prime mid-box industrial and logistics building at Tournament Fields.

"The development of a best-in-class unit will help to address the ongoing shortage of new, high-quality industrial accommodation in the West Midlands.

"New buildings such as this help to create the quality accommodation that local, regional and national businesses need in order to expand their operations within the Midlands."

The site was bought for an undisclosed sum from a subsidiary of Clowes Developments (º£½ÇÊÓƵ).

Wareing & Company and Savills have been retained by Barberry to act as leasing agents.

Other tenants at Tournament Fields include children's book producer Scholastic Publications, Gallagher Security and kitchen and bathroom product manufacturer Hansgrohe.

Elsewhere in the region, Barberry is planning to build a £16 million 77,000 sq ft grade A warehouse at Quinton Business Park, Birmingham, and a £10.5 million unit on Ansty Park, Coventry.
