Commercial property developer and investor Barberry Industrial has secured planning consent for a £17 million industrial and logistics scheme in Birmingham.

The Stourbridge-based company plans to deliver 77,750 sq ft of grade A distribution and manufacturing space on the last available site at Quinton Business Park next to junction three of the M5.

Construction of the new single unit, which will be known as Barberry Midbox 78, is expected to commence on site later this year and will be available to let or for sale.

Barberry acquired the site last year, exchanging contracts within two weeks of instructing solicitors.

Development director Jon Robinson said: "We are very grateful to gain the full support of Birmingham City Council's planning committee and we are excited to begin another outstanding speculative warehouse development.

"Our development of a best-in-class unit will help to address the ongoing shortage of new, high-quality, mid-box industrial and logistics accommodation in the West Midlands.

"Our building is designed to enable businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and deliver financial savings across their operations."
