The Washington base of car parts manufacturer Gestamp has been put on the market for £6.5m.

Gestamp has been winding down its operations at its Washington base after it made the decision to switch production to its manufacturing site in Newton Aycliffe.

The commercial property has now been placed on the market with an asking price of £6.5m.

Described as a "large, modern commercial premises" the site is located in the commercial quarter of Washington and includes a detached commercial building that provides a total gross internal floor area of 140,781sq ft.

It also includes a two-storey office, with 11,131sq ft of space, a canteen, welfare facilities, and an eight-man lift. There is also a car park with 116 spaces.

In total, the site covers 11.386 acres.
