Gary Neville partners with Betfred founder's firm to build 40-storey city centre tower

Relentless has hired Salboy to build the 40-storey tower at its St Michael's scheme in Manchester city centre

Gary Neville's Relentless Group has partnered with the property developer owned by Betfred founder Fred Done to build a 40-storey tower at its St Michael's scheme in Manchester city centre.

Salboy will lead the project, which forms the second phase of the scheme, after signing a joint venture agreement.

The tower will include a five-star hotel with 161 beds, 181 serviced residences and a "multitude of design-led amenity and leisure spaces".

The second phase of the St Michael's scheme will also include front onto the new public square and include a fully refurbished Sir Ralph Abercromby pub.

Relentless Group added the project will see the creation of 1,800 jobs.

Supporting Relentless and Salboy in the delivery of phase two will be contractor Domis Construction, Salboy’s construction partner.

Initial works are expected to start in January 2023 and the scheme in its entirety is due to be completed in 2026.
