The former Black Country home of Toys 'R' Us has been converted into a new 65,000 sq ft retail development.

The site in Wolverhampton Road, Oldbury, now contains a new standalone Tim Hortons drive-thru café, B&M store with a 5,000 sq ft garden centre and new vacant retail space.

Construction work on the newly named Birchley Island Retail Park has now completed.

It contains a total of four units, two of which are new while the others have been created from the subdivision and refurbishment of the existing retail warehouse.

One of the vacant units is already under off for leisure uses although the end occupier has not yet been identified.

An area of its car park has been let to the EV Network where 12 new EV charging points are to be installed while an existing McDonald's drive-thru restaurant is remaining open as part of the new scheme.

James Slater, head of building surveying and development at landlord Hortons' Estate, said: "We have delivered a high-quality development at Birchley Island Retail Park that significantly enhances the local retail offer.
