Former bank and children's home among commercial lots up for grabs at auction

Dozens of West Midlands-based properties will be going under the hammer next month

A number of commercial properties across the West Midlands will be going under the hammer at an auction

A former bank is among a cast of commercial properties which are due to go under the hammer next month.

The former RBS building in the centre of Newcastle-under-Lyme, in Staffordshire, will be up for grabs at the Bond Wolfe Auction sale at Villa Park, in Birmingham, on July 3.

The freehold property in the High Street occupies a prominent town centre location and is considered suitable for a variety of uses, subject to planning permission, and has a guide price of more than £285,000.

Elsewhere in the West Midlands, a town centre office building in Lichfield Street, Walsall, is up for grabs for more than £170,000.

The building is a period three storey mid-terraced property with single and two storey extensions at the rear.

Further south in Malvern, there is a town centre commercial investment opportunity in Church Street in the region of £235,000.

The building boasts a ground floor retail unit – which is currently occupied by the Shaw Trust on a 10-year lease until 2022 – while the upper two floors are home to office accommodation with planning permission for conversion to an apartment.
