A commercial fit-out company is expanding into new offices in Birmingham city centre.

Intex Projects has taken the third floor suite in 126 Colmore Row, just a short walk from its current base in 103 Colmore Row.

The company, which also has an office in Leamington Spa, carries out fit-out projects of up to £10 million and counts Birmingham City University and Birmingham City FC among its client roster.

Design and business development manager Emma Brayne said: "The business is 21 years old this year and we are looking to grow further.

"Birmingham is a very significant market for us so it is important that we have a strong presence in the city centre.

"The fact that we can move just a short walk down Colmore Row is very convenient and it's fair to say we know a good fit-out company if we need to make any changes."

The move to 126 Colmore Row comes just weeks after the building was acquired by Solihull-based EDG Property.

The property is home to tenants such as Jamaya Restaurants, investment consultancy Walker Crips and the organisers of Birmingham's famous Christmas Market.

EDG has already started refurbishment of the building and has appointed BNP Paribas Real Estate as letting agency for the available office space.

EDG Property director Neil Edginton said: "We're really pleased to secure Intex Projects as our first letting since acquiring 126 Colmore Row only a few weeks ago.

"As a high-end fit out specialist, it understands our vision and plans for the building and it's exciting to see the extent of other tenant interest we've already had in the building.

"We knew we had a special property on our hands when we acquired it and achieving our first deal so quickly underlines that."

Julie Perks, associate director of BNP Paribas Real Estate, added: "There has been really positive interest in 126 Colmore Row since the high-profile announcement of the acquisition by EDG a few weeks ago and the fact it has translated into a first letting so quickly is great news all round."
