A fast-growing North East hotel and pub company has made another acquisition as it continues its growth in the embattled hospitality sector.

The Alnwick-based Inn Collection Group’s portfolio has reached 23 after it acquired The Carlton Hotel in the Lancashire seaside resort of Lytham St Annes.

The hotel adjoins another, The Lindum Hotel, which Inn Collection acquired at the end of last year. It will trade as part of that hotel.

The new deal follows a rash of acquisitions by Inn Collection, including sites in Ambleside, in the Lake District.

Managing director Sean Donkin said: “We’re excited to be expanding in this fantastic part of the North. The Carlton will be a great addition to The Lindum and allow us to further our fantastic offering to more people.

“2021 has continued to be a year of substantial growth and this asset will help us increase our offering in Lancashire. We are also delighted that with this acquisition we can contribute to job creation and economic development across the supply chain giving a much-needed boost within the communities we operate during these challenging times.”

The Alchemy-backed group has recently re-evaluated its growth plans and has increased its target of sites to 40 by the end of 2022. During the last month, the group expanded its portfolio further by acquiring two sites in the Lake District, The Wateredge Inn and The Waterhead Inn.

The group is also set to open new build site on Wearside in June. The Seaburn Inn is a 40-bedroom unit located on the shores of Seaburn and offers en-suite rooms with sea views, al fresco dining, and a children’s play area.
