An engineering and surveying consultancy has opened a new office in Nottinghamshire as part of a continuing growth plan.

Smithers Purslow's new base at the Trent Business Centre in West Bridgford is the company's sixth office and forms a key part of its vision to provide º£½ÇÊÓƵ-wide coverage.

Headquartered in Rutland, Smithers also provides buildings insurance services and architectural and planning design and advise, alongside its core work of engineering and surveying consultancy.

Midlands director Mike Boast said: "The Midlands team have really enjoyed working alongside the excellent staff at Glaston, however, following recruitment in the region over the last few years the new Nottingham office will ensure a closer working relationship within the department.

“This move opens up an exciting new chapter and we can’t wait to establish our presence in Nottingham and the surrounding areas. In the coming weeks and months, we will be looking to carry out marketing and enhance Smithers Purslow’s reputation in the Midlands region, in line with our business growth strategy”.

The firm has public and private sector clients in the insurance, property and construction industries. It works with estate and property owners and managers, large corporations, developers and high-net worth individuals.

It was founded in 1978 from a small office in Oakham and now also has offices in Newcastle, London, Reading and Exeter.

Director Andrew Bussey said: "A key factor to our ongoing success is that we have this chameleon-like ability to evolve and provide differing services that meet the needs of an ever-growing client base.
