Engineering, management and development consultancy Mott MacDonald has relocated to a new larger office in Birmingham.

The move from 35 Newhall Street was prompted after the company more than doubled its staff in the city over the last five years to 550 people. Its new home at 10 Livery Street has capacity to accommodate 700 employees.

Birmingham lead Tim Fawcett said: "We're delighted to open our vibrant, dynamic workspace in Birmingham and recognise the critical role the office plays in fostering our culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.

Mott MacDonald has been operating in the Midlands for more than 100 years and its portfolio of work includes the regeneration of University station in Birmingham and the masterplan for the Arden Cross mixed-use project near Birmingham Airport.

West Midlands Mayor Andy Street officially opened the new office.

He said: "Mott MacDonald has been involved with a number of major construction projects in our region, from the design of HS2 through to Sandwell Aquatics Centre that was front and centre in the spectacular 2022 Commonwealth Games.

"I will watch the firm's continued progress with great interest, now from their new Birmingham headquarters, and very much welcome their efforts to help local people from a wide range of backgrounds to find rewarding careers in construction."
