A new nursery has opened in Emersons Green in South Gloucestershire following an £800,000 investment by its owners.

The Midcounties Co-operative, one of the largest independent cooperatives in the country, has officially opened the doors of its latest Little Pioneers preschool within its childcare management division, Co-op Childcare.

The nursery, located on Fieldfare off Folly Brook Road, offers up to 100 spaces for local children aged from three months to five years.

The group said the new facility would have three separate rooms tailored to each age group’s learning and development.

The site also offers parking, a large garden for outdoor play, and a designated room for parents to speak with allocated key workers.

The new nursery is the second Little Pioneers site in the Bristol area, with the other based next to Bristol Temple Meads railway station, in the building of the former British Empire and Commonwealth museum.

All of the Little Pioneers nurseries, of which there are around 45 nationwide and seven in the South West, are rated either ‘100% outstanding’ or ‘good’ by Ofsted, and have Millie’s Mark accreditation, the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's 'gold standard' for paediatric first aid in early years.

The Midcounties Co-operative said the team at its new Emersons Green nursery would seek to also “secure these accolades quickly".
