East Yorkshire business park expansion to start in weeks as developers build to meet demand

Local firms united in joint venture to deliver 22-acre Broadhelm Business Park

Work is about to begin on the next phase of an East Yorkshire business park, with dozens more jobs envisaged once occupied.

Seven new high-spec warehouse, trade counter and industrial units at to be added to Broadhelm Business Park in Pocklington.

The 22-acre development is a a joint venture between York-based property company, Helmsley Group and town-based Broadvale Developments

Manor Court is the latest phase, with new units to range from 3,000 sq ft up to 20,000 sq ft. Construction is to start in the spring and will complete towards the end of the year. Further phases are also proposed.

Jonathan Atkinson, of Broadvale Developments, said: “Broadhelm Business Park has quickly established itself as one of the most sought-after mixed-use developments in a highly prominent location between York and Hull. We are now delighted to announce the next phase is due to start on this exciting development, which will attract new businesses to the area and create many more jobs.”

Phase one of Broadhelm Business Park saw the creation of the roundabout on the A1709 York to Hull road, along with the construction of a new Shell filling station, Starbucks and KFC, as well as two new trade units for operators Howdens and Home-Fit º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

The second phase, called Helmsley Court, comprised eight starter units ranging from 1,000 – 1,500 sq ft, with all sold off plan.
