Dow breaks ground at Cheadle Royal

Dow, the Fortune 50 global multinational, has broken ground on the building that will become its new º£½ÇÊÓƵ & Ireland headquarters.

The new head office, at Cheadle Royal Business Park in Stockport, Greater Manchester, will be home to 40 Dow staff including the company’s national management team, technical and sales office, and a product research and development (R&D) facility.

At an event this week, John Case, Dow’s º£½ÇÊÓƵ & Ireland country manager, welcomed guests including Mary Robinson, the MP for Cheadle; Jim Lindley, the US Embassy Commercial Counsellor, Councillor David Meller, Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration at Stockport Council, Damian Waters, North West Director of the CBI, to a ceremony to break ground at the new site location.

They were also joined by Nick Platt, partner at Knight Frank, Ian Matthews, operations manager at Seddons, as well as Phil Mayall, regional director, and Tom Webber, senior development surveyor at Muse Developments.

Materials science company Dow was founded in 1897 in Michigan, USA; and has been operating in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ since the 1950s.

Today the global business operates 113 manufacturing sites in 31 countries and employs approximately 37,000 people.

The new building is reflective of the company’s commitment to the region, it said.

John Case said: “It’s an exciting time to be working at Dow in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, and our investment in the local area is a sign of our commitment to the customer base we have here. Cheadle Royal is such an impressive new site. We can’t wait to move in and take advantage of the new state-of-the-art facilities here.”
