Dow, the Fortune 50 global multinational, has broken ground on the building that will become its new 海角视频 & Ireland headquarters.

The new head office, at Cheadle Royal Business Park in Stockport, Greater Manchester, will be home to 40 Dow staff including the company鈥檚 national management team, technical and sales office, and a product research and development (R&D) facility.

At an event this week, John Case, Dow鈥檚 海角视频 & Ireland country manager, welcomed guests including Mary Robinson, the MP for Cheadle; Jim Lindley, the US Embassy Commercial Counsellor, Councillor David Meller, Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration at Stockport Council, Damian Waters, North West Director of the CBI, to a ceremony to break ground at the new site location.

They were also joined by Nick Platt, partner at Knight Frank, Ian Matthews, operations manager at Seddons, as well as Phil Mayall, regional director, and Tom Webber, senior development surveyor at Muse Developments.

Materials science company Dow was founded in 1897 in Michigan, USA; and has been operating in the 海角视频 since the 1950s.

Today the global business operates 113 manufacturing sites in 31 countries and employs approximately 37,000 people.

The new building is reflective of the company鈥檚 commitment to the region, it said.

Cheadle Royal is such an impressive new site. We can鈥檛 wait to move in and take advantage of the new state-of-the-art facilities here.鈥

Mary Robinson, MP for Cheadle, said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e here today to celebrate the significant investment Dow is making into the local area.

Cheadle Royal Business Park is a 拢175m development delivered by national urban regeneration and development specialists, Muse Developments, working with North West based, Seddon Construction.

Tom Webber, a senior development surveyor at Muse, said: 鈥淎ttracting Dow into Cheadle Royal and the borough of Stockport is a significant accomplishment.

鈥淣ot only does it complete development on part of the scheme, with only one plot still available, but it will also bring highly-skilled jobs and investment to the area and provide a platform for long-term, sustainable regeneration.鈥

Development of Dow鈥檚 new building is expected to complete by the end of 2020. Other businesses currently based at Cheadle Royal include Together Money, Jarden and Agilent Technologies.
